The Board of the Canadian Food Allergy Immunotherapy (FAIT) Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Kimberly Waines as its new Director of Development.
Kimberly brings a wealth of experience to the role, with a career spanning asthma education, ICU nursing, and pharmaceutical sales. She has also served on the board of the Canadian Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Foundation, further strengthening her deep connection to the allergy and immunology community.
One of Kimberly’s three daughters (now adults) lived with severe asthma as a child, sparking Kimberly’s long-standing interest in respiratory care and patient advocacy. She says she is now excited to play a role in building and expanding the important work of the Canadian FAIT Foundation.
“We’re so pleased to welcome Kimberly to the Canadian FAIT Foundation at such an exciting moment in food allergy treatment research — research that is already improving the lives of so many families,” said Canadian FAIT Foundation Board Chair, Dan Sharp.
Kimberly is already making plans to connect with FAIT supporters, the broader allergy community, and healthcare professionals across Canada to help build momentum for the Foundation’s growing work.
About Us
The Canadian FAIT Foundation is dedicated to making life-changing food allergy treatments accessible across Canada. We fund innovative research and provide education for healthcare providers—so every Canadian with food allergies can access safe, effective care close to home.
Food allergies affect more than three million Canadians, yet access to treatments such as oral immunotherapy (OIT) and sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) remains limited. Too many families are left managing an “invisible,” but life-altering condition on their own. We are working to change that by funding research, supporting clinician training, and helping build a coordinated system of care that reaches every community—regardless of geography or ability to pay.
Our mission is simple: to create a future where families can reclaim their freedom, confidence, and everyday joy around food.
